Hawpe leaves game with cramp
DENVER -- The Rockies removed right fielder Brad Hawpe from Tuesday night's 6-5 loss to the Giants for "precautionary reasons" after Hawpe suffered cramping in his right hamstring.
Manager Clint Hurdle replaced Hawpe with Ryan Spilborghs in the eighth inning. Hawpe had gone 0-for-3, to fall to .231 on the season. But Hawpe did have an RBI, his 17th of the season, on a fielder's choice groundout in the third inning.
A Rockies spokesman said Hawpe is "day-to-day." The Rockies and Giants are scheduled to play Wednesday afternoon.
