DENVER -- Right-hander Alex White, who allowed one run and eight hits in 15 innings over his last two starts at Triple-A Colorado Springs, will be recalled to start for the Rockies in Thursday night's series finale against the Cardinals at Coors Field. White, 23, was 2-6 with a 6.45 ERA in 10 starts in May and June with the Rockies before being sent to Colorado Springs. He's 3-4 with a 3.71 ERA in 11 starts for the Sky Sox this season. His best two outings were his last two, when he pitched seven scoreless innings in a victory against Tacoma on July 23, and gave up one run in eight innings in a victory over Fresno -- with eight strikeouts against on walk -- on Saturday.More
The Rockies need White because they pushed rookie left-hander Christian Friedrich (5-8, 6.17 ERA) back from Thursday to Sunday because of stiffness in his back and other general stiffness and soreness.
