Rockies call for MRI on CarGo's hamstring
DENVER -- After seeing outfielder Carlos Gonzalez limp through the last week with cramping and soreness in his left hamstring, the Rockies sent him for an MRI to determine the nature of the problem.

The injury, which he suffered Sept. 16 in San Diego and tweaked during a pinch-hit appearance a day later, is the latest problem in a rough second half. Gonzalez, who made his first All-Star Game trip this season, missed time when his grandfather died and has dealt with opposing pitchers avoiding him because Troy Tulowitzki and Todd Helton have not been in the lineup because of injuries.

While playing through the injury, Gonzalez has gone 0-for-8 and seen his season batting average drop to .303.
