Rockies specialty license plates available

Rockies fans are able to show their Rockies pride and support of Colorado Rockies Baseball Club Foundation with the purchase of Colorado Rockies specialty license plates. The Rockies would like to thank the thousands of Coloradans who signed the petition to create these special plates. The Rockies will be accepting applications at the official team website www.coloradorockies.com for the signature plates that will be available Wednesday, January 2, 2013.

All Colorado residents who make a $52.80 donation to the Colorado Rockies Baseball Club Foundation will be eligible to purchase Colorado Rockies license plates. The Rockies will issue a certificate of approval confirming the donation has been received. In order to receive the Rockies' specialty license plate, an individual must present to their County Motor Vehicle Office the certificate issued by the Colorado Rockies Baseball Club Foundation proving a donation was paid. Additional fees from the Department of Motor Vehicles will apply, including any normal taxes and locality fees usually assessed with the registration and plating of the vehicle.

Donations can be made all year, however please plan for two to three weeks for delivery of the certificate after the application has been received. Please make sure that the name on the application is the name listed on the car registration. The certificate provided and the car registration name must match in order to receive the plates.

100% of the Rockies License Plates proceeds ($52.80 donation per plate) go to the Colorado Rockies Baseball Club Foundation. The foundation is dedicated to advancing youth sports, health, and education initiatives.
