PHOENIX -- The Rockies continued to trim the big league roster in preparation for their season opener on Monday against the Brewers in Milwaukee.
Before Wednesday's game against the A's, the Rockies sent infielder DJ LeMahieu to Minor League camp, leaving 31 players with the big club, a number that still includes six non-roster players.
The Rockies are still making final decisions on at least one bullpen spot and a utility player.
This spring, LeMahieu batted .231 (9-for-39) with two doubles, a triple, four RBIs and seven runs scored in 19 games. Last year, he split the season with the Rockies and Triple-A Colorado Springs. In the Majors, LeMahieu batted .297 in 82 games, playing mostly at second base.
