Rockies option infielder Josh Rutledge to Triple-A Colorado Springs


DENVER -- The Colorado Rockies announced today that the club optioned infielder Josh Rutledge to Triple-A Colorado Springs.

Rutledge, 24, was a member of the Rockies Opening Day roster this season. In 43 game with the Rockies he has batted .242 (38-for-157) with 3 doubles, 5 home runs, 13 RBI and 26 runs scored. Rutledge has been a member of the Rockies active roster since he was brought to the Majors on July 13, 2012. In 116 career games he has batted .263 (114-for-434) with 23 doubles 5 triples, 13 home runs, 50 RBI and 63 runs. The Birmingham, AL native was originally selected by Colorado in the third round of the 2010 First-Year Player Draft out of the University of Alabama.

The Rockies currently have 39 players on the 40-man roster.
