Torrealba's son throws out first pitch

Torrealba's son throws out first pitch

|
DENVER -- A special year for catcher Yorvit Torrealba continued Sunday night, when his son, Yorvit Eduardo Torrealba, threw out the first pitch before the Rockies' first home playoff game of 2009 -- Game 3 of the National League Division Series against the Phillies.

Yorvit Eduardo, 12, and two other family members were kidnapped in Venezuela in early June, setting off a few days of tense negotiations. The abductors set the three of them free without even picking up the $50,000 that had been agreed upon.

Since then, Torrealba moved his wife and family to the U.S. Yorvit Eduardo spent much of the summer with his father, often participating in pregame workouts with the Rockies. But when school started, Yorvit Eduardo went to Miami -- the family's new home.

But they were together, once again, at Coors Field before Game 3.
