DENVER -- Rockies manager Walt Weiss scratched catcher Wilin Rosario from the lineup about an hour before Saturday's game against the Dodgers. No immediate announcement was made as to the reason.

The decision came not long after Weiss enthusiastically talked about the at-bats improving for Rosario, who went into Saturday with a .234 batting average, five home runs and 22 RBIs in a season that has been hampered by hand and wrist injuries, as well as a stint on the 15-day disabled list with the flu.

Weiss had intended to use Rosario, known around the clubhouse as "Baby Bull," as the cleanup hitter. Instead, Troy Tulowitzki batted cleanup. Michael McKenry batted sixth.

"I've seen signs of 'Bull' coming around," Weiss said. "He's taken some good swings, hit some balls hard, and I think he's showing signs of taking off. He's a dangerous bat. Even though he's gotten off to a slower start this year, he still puts fear in the opposing pitcher. They know if they make a mistake, he's going to hit it a long ways."
