Shortstop Rosell Herrera, the Rockies' No. 4 prospect, collected four hits and scored three runs Friday, helping Class A Advanced Modesto defeat High Desert, 14-7.
Herrera, ranked No. 82 on MLB.com's Top 100 Prospects list, went 4-for-6 with three doubles and an RBI. He set a new career high for doubles and recorded his second four-hit game this month.
First baseman Will Swanner, the Rockies' No. 19 prospect, added two hits and two RBIs in the slugfest.
Earlier this week, it was announced Herrera would represent the World team in the SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game on July 13 at Target Field. The 21-year old Dominican native is hitting .287/.339/.367 in 38 games.
Herrera has played especially well since he returned from a wrist injury that forced him to spend more than a month on the disabled list. In 20 games since he was activated May 31, he is hitting .308/.385/.449 with two home runs and three stolen bases.
