DENVER -- Rockies first baseman Justin Morneau, whose last action was before the All-Star break, took batting practice on the field Saturday for the first time since being placed on the 15-day disabled list this week.

Morneau (.312, 13 HRs, 60 RBIs) sustained a stiff neck when he returned from the All-Star break. He is eligible to return from the disabled list Tuesday.

Manager Walt Weiss also said left-handed pitcher Boone Logan, on the disabled list with diverticulitis, a digestive ailment, might face hitters on Sunday, if the field is available. Logan is available to come off the disabled list Sunday, but he will need to face hitters and see where he stands.
