The Rockies announced after Saturday night's 8-1 victory over the Pirates that Tulowitzki made the trip. The club noted that the Rockies' training and medical staffs often encourage players to visit with specialists. Players and their agents also are commonly known to seek specialists outside the club's doctors.
Tulowitzki, who sustained the injury last Saturday in Pittsburgh, is tied with the Astros' Jose Altuve for the Major League lead in batting (.340) and is tops in on-base percentage (.432) and OPS (1.035).
