CHICAGO -- Diverticulitis -- a digestive ailment -- forced left-hander Boone Logan to the 15-day disabled list after the All-Star break. It also robbed him of some fun.
"I had to eat super-healthy," Logan said. "No tobacco, no alcohol, no caffeine, no gluten, no spicy foods -- no life."
But Logan was allowed to have fun on Tuesday, when the Rockies activated him prior to the game against the Cubs at Wrigley Field.
Both Logan and first baseman Justin Morneau (neck strain) were activated. In addition, infielder Cristhian Adames was recalled from Triple-A Colorado Springs and at some point will make his Major League debut.
To create roster space, the Rockies optioned right-handed relievers Chad Bettis and Brooks Brown, and first baseman Ben Paulsen to Colorado Springs.
