Reds at the plate: Center fielder Drew Stubbs led off the bottom of the first inning with a home run to left field. Ramon Hernandez was 1-for-2 with a double.Rockies at the plate: With two outs in the top of the third, Clint Barmes hit a 2-0 pitch for a two-run home run to left field. Leading off the top of the fifth, Brad Eldred hit a 0-1 pitch for a homer to left field. A four-run top of the seventh was created by a fielding error by shortstop Drew Sutton. Jordan Pacheco hit a three-run double.
Rockies on the mound: Starter Jorge De La Rosa gave up one earned run and three hits over 5 1/3 innings with one walk and five strikeouts. Matt Daley worked a perfect two-thirds of an inning. Manuel Corpas followed with 1 1/3 scoreless with one hit and one strikeout.Worth noting: Outfielder Ryan Spilborghs tripled to right field with two out in the top of the first inning. It marked the Rockies' sixth straight game with a triple and their 17th of the spring. Cactus League records: Reds 8-9-2 Rockies 13-8-1 Up next: The Reds get their lone day off of spring on Tuesday. When they return on Wednesday, fourth starter Homer Bailey will pitch in the 4:05 p.m. ET game vs. the Giants at Goodyear Ballpark. Since getting off to a 2-for-20 start, Stubbs is 9-for-18 (.500) with six extra base hits, including two homers. Right-hander Jason Hammel, who has a 1.93 spring ERA with 12 strikeouts to no walks, will start against the Padres at Hi Corbett Field. The game is scheduled to be the Cactus League debut of right-handed setup man Rafael Betancourt, who has come back from tightness in his throwing shoulder.
